A loan of $775 helped to clear weeds from his farms.

Antonio's story

Antonio, 69, began to work on his father's coffee farms when he was young. At the age of 23 he married Agueda and at 24 he became completely independent from his father so he could grow his own coffee. Antonio and Agueda are members of Unión Regional de Huatusco, an organization to which they deliver their entire coffee production every year to be processed and exported.

For the next harvest Antonio needs a loan to clear the weeds from his farms. He'll pay back the loan at the end of the harvest.

Antonio and his wife have a coffee nursery where they produce the plant they grow on their farms. After the harvest he would like to invest in his nursery to be able to expand it and sell coffee plants to the producers in the area.
