A loan of $1,075 helped to buy cement, metal sheets, and gutters in order to build her own place.

Orfa Argentina's story

Orfa, age 34, is in a common-law marriage with her husband. She lives with her parents and husband in an urban community in the Nueva Frontera municipality in the Santa Bárbara department.

Orfa has been selling food for one year through a cafeteria that she rents monthly. She sells breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and soft drinks. With the intention of building her own place, she has decided to request a loan for 21,000 lempiras. She plans to use the loan to buy cement, metal sheets, and gutters. She will also pay for the labor and construction fittings.

She is happy with the profits that her food business generates for her. She hopes to continue growing until she converts her business into a well-known restaurant in her municipality.
