Kardenakhi, Georgia / Agriculture

A loan of $1,225 helped to purchase fuel to cultivate her land for a good grape harvest and to purchase additional pigs to sell.

Luiza's story

Luiza is from the Gurjaani district of the Kakheti region. She is 33 years old and lives with her husband and two children (5 and 9 years old). The family is involved in the agricultural business. In particular, they own a vineyard and pick the grapes in the early autumn. Also, Luiza is running an animal husbandry business and has 3 pigs. The family sells grapes and piglets at the local market. Luiza works hard to ensure a good quality harvest and takes good care of her livestock.

She has requested credit for purchasing fuel for tilling the land, in order to get a good harvest of grapes next season. Also, part of the loan will be used for purchasing pigs. Luiza will keep the pigs in the shed, located in their yard, and raise and sell them in autumn for a higher price. This will significantly increase the family income and Luiza will reinvest the increased profit in expanding her animal husbandry business. She awaits your help and kindness.
