A loan of $550 helped to purchase chickens.

Trancito Etelvina's story

Trancito is requesting her seventh loan throught the communal bank Loma de la Cruz. She lives in the Chiquintad area in the city of Cuenca, where the weather is cold but the people are very warmhearted. There are several places there where you can enjoy nature. You can also enjoy the culture, traditions, and cuisine.

Trancito is 38 years old. She is a widow and has seven children from her marriage, who are ages twenty, eighteen, fourteen, twelve, ten, eight, and six. Her oldest daughter is married and lives on her own, the next two work and help her out financially, her fourth is in school, and her three youngest go to a little local school. She owns their house, a reward she has earned by working.

Trancito has been working raising chickens for several years. She sells them plucked, and also works as a domestic, but that is a part time job she has from Monday through Saturday half a day.

He is going to invest her new loan in purchasing chickens so that she can raise more of these animals. Her goal is to get ahead so that her children have a better future.
