A loan of $1,425 helped to supply her business with medicines for common illnesses, meat, dairy products, sausages, cleaning products, school supplies, drinks, and cosmetics.

Mayra Elizabeth's story

Mayra is 41 years old, married, and has four children. She lives with her husband and two of her children in an urban community of the Pimienta municipality in the department of Cortés.

Mayra takes care of the domestic chores in her home. Eight years ago she decided to help her family financially and started a business selling basic needs products. This is how she now has a minimart where she offers her customers rice, sugar, a variety of breads, meat, dairy products, groceries, sweets, and cosmetics.

With the goal of gaining more customers, she has requested a loan for 28,000 Lempiras. She thinks she will use it to purchase medicines for common illnesses, meats, dairy products, sausages, cleaning products, school supplies, beverages, and cosmetics. Her goal is to strengthen her business because she wants to use the profits to prepare her children academically.
