A loan of $400 helped to purchase accessories for her mototaxi.

Maria's story

María is a happy and dynamic 34-year-old woman. She is married and has six children, and they all live together in their own home, where she and her husband share the duties of raising their children, for whom they want to give the best. María makes a living renting a mototaxi. She has one vehicle that she bought six months ago at a discount price because it was used. A driver takes it every day for a set price. In addition to this activity she sells snacks on the city streets or at an area school. She has been doing that job for five years, and she enjoys it because it gives her time to go home and tend to her children. Fortunately now she also has the mototaxi, which will allow her to save more money. She hopes to soon make considerable improvements to her businesses, namely opening a general store where she can offer her snacks as well as groceries of primary need. This is her third loan with Kiva partner MFP, and she is grateful for all the people who made it possible to get this loan so she can advance her business. She enjoys being part of her community bank, since it is a united and supportive group. With the loan, she plans to purchase some accessories for her mototaxi and to purchase larger quantities of snacks.
