A loan of $850 helped to buy pies, fruits, sodas, starch bread, etc..

Yina Alexandra's story

The members of the communal bank Mujeres Organizadas meet every fortnight in the Rocafuerte canton. This place is known for its delicious sweets that locals prepare, which are recognized throughout the country.

This is where Yina lives. She is 27 years old and has a common-law relationship from which she has two children who are five years old, twins, and study first grade. Her husband is a driver.

In order to obtain her own resources for the welfare of the family, three years ago Yina started her own business. She has a bar near her home where she sells a variety of sandwiches and fast food. Among what she sells the most, there are "corviche", starch breads, pies, fruit shakes, sodas, water, and other products. She works every day in the afternoon.

She also sells Avon products (beauty products, cosmetics, fragrances and accessories for women). She does her routes in the morning. She is doing very well in her businesses and these help to get her family ahead.

This loan is to buy pies, fruits, sodas, starch bread, among other products she sells in her bar. She has four years in the communal bank and she likes it for the facilities to get loans. Her dream is to give the best to her children.
