A loan of $975 helped to purchase seasonal fruits for resale at her stand, as well as ingredients for cooking various food dishes.

Domitila's story

Domitila is 48 years old, and is a happy, good woman who lives with her life partner and their three children, ages 31, 27 and 25. Their family lives in their own house, and Domitila enjoys sharing life with and working to provide for her family. Domitila makes a living selling regional fruits during the daytime from a stand on the sidewalk outside her home. She proudly displays and sells the fruit she selects by hand from the best local market. After 5:00 in the evening, Domitila begins her work cooking and selling traditional, regional food dishes, such as: patarashca (a traditional seafood dish), grilled chicken, smoked sausage, tacacho (a grilled meat and plantain dish), etc. She has 10 years of experience in her trades, and largely works alone. Since her customers have been asking, Domitila wants to expand her business to include selling candy.

Domitila is grateful that her jobs allow her to generate income for covering household expenses. In addition, cooking has always been one of her passions from a very young age. She hopes to expand and strengthen her businesses, and to begin selling candy and sweets soon. This is her 13th loan with MFP, and she has always been known at her community bank as a responsible and dependable person.

Domitila is grateful for this opportunity, and promises to continue her good track record of prompt loan repayments. With the support from this loan, she plans to buy seasonal fruits for resale at her stand, as well as the food ingredients necessary for cooking up her delicious dishes.
