A loan of $1,225 helped a member to buy fertilizer for her cultivated land.

Pheap's Group's story

Pheap is a 42-year-old married woman who has been farming rice on three hectares and planting cassava on five hectares of land as the main sources of family income for 22 years. She lives in a wooden house in a rural area of the Ou Reang Ov district of Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. Her daily income is approximately 30,000 KHRy, and she manages to save about 18,000 KHR each day after offsetting daily expenses. The main challenge for her paddy field is drought.

Pheap’ group consists of four members who live in the same village. This is the group's first loan with VisionFund, and as the leader, Pheap will use her portion to buy fertilizer for her cultivated land and pay the cost of plowing the field. Through this loan, she hopes to get a high yield from her plantation so as to better her living standards.
