Srey's Group's story

A citizen from a rural village located in the Battambng province’s Moung Russey district, Srey is 39 years old and married with five dependent children, some are in school and some are too young for school. For the last 10 years, Srey has been farming rice on 7 hectares of farmland to support her family. With the current business, she can earn about 30,000 KHR per day and can save about 15,000 KHR each day for the future needs. Srey has been a member of VisionFund for two cycles already, while the other member has been with VisionFund for one cycle. Srey completely paid back the loans, which have enabled her to relieve her family’s burden. Now she is leading her group of two to apply for another loan. Srey, who is the leader, will use her portion to buy fertilizers and rice seeds for her farmland and use a portion of it to spend on labor fees. She hopes to grow rice fruitfully so as to sell it for a good price to improve her standard of living.
