On her own initiative and with a lot of effort and dedication, Elsa set up her small business selling fruits. From an early hour every day she tends her stall in a small market in the city, working approximately 12 hours a day. She thinks it's going well for her because of the friendly service she gives her customers.

Elsa's very grateful to the Kiva lenders because thanks to their help she'll be able to improve her house. She wants to be able to plaster, paint, and put in the floor in her room. This way Elsa will have a suitable and safe environment that will give her greater well-being.

Elsa will continue to work and make the effort to achieve her goals and realize her dream, to finish building her own house.

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
