Dorcah is fifty-year-old farmer in Kisii county in Kenya where she lives with her husband and eight children. Five of them are still in school. She has been in farming for three years producing maize, beans and napier grass* which she sells locally.
She is requesting a 41,600 KES loan from Juhudi Kilimo to buy and insure a dairy cow that will help in increasing her income and improve her livelihood. She will also use the milk for consumption. She aspires to buy more cows to expand her business in the next five years.
Diseases and animal calamities are her major challenges in farming.
Dorcah is very grateful to Juhudi Kilimo for its support.
