Yexenia

A loan of $550 helped to buy women’s clothes, jeans, women’s shoes, domestic appliances, and supplies.

Yexenia's story

Yexenia, age 34, lives south of the city with her 13 year old son and her two daughters, ages 15 and 10. She has a family goal to give her children a high quality education so that they can eventually be successful.

She specializes in selling clothes, shoes, and domestic appliances. She sells directly to her clientele, which she has built up little by little. This has been a traditional business in her family for many years. Therefore, she learned to work in commerce from her parents.

Yexenia started this business four years ago. She works selling clothes and other products to her friends and relatives every day from seven in the morning until seven at night. She makes her purchases from warehouses in the center of Barranquilla. She sells on credit.

She is currently applying for a Kiva loan in order to buy women’s clothes, jeans, women’s shoes, domestic appliances, and supplies. She will do this because she wants to increase her stock in order to increase sales and get more customers.
