Nasreen's story

Ms. Nasreen is a 32-year-old, married woman. She has been successfully running a small general store in her community for the last ten years. She offers various goods of daily use at reasonable prices. She has gained a lot of regular customers.

Nasreen's husband is employed in a small factory and earns insufficient income alone to support his family. She is a mother of five children and is motivated to provide for her family.

As she wants to grow her business, she requested a loan of 20,000 PKR (Pakistani rupee) to buy stocks of rice, flour and packs of oil from the market at lower rates. She then would be able to meet the increasing demand consistently.

Nasreen wishes to utilize part of the revenues to deal with the expenses of her children’s education and also to increase her business capital.
