Nana's story

Nana is from the Telavi district of the Kakheti region. She is 22 years old and lives with her husband, child, parents-in-law, brother-in-law and grandmother. Nana’s husband, father-in-law and brother-in-law are builders and get monthly income. The grandmother is a pensioner. Nana runs an agricultural business.

In particular, she owns a plot of land, where strawberries are grown. In addition, the family has a vineyard and picks grapes in the late summer. They do all relevant agricultural work to ensure a good harvest. The harvested products are sold locally. Also, Nana is involved in an animal husbandry business and has several pigs. She is a very hard working young woman, with a great desire to get ahead.

With the received credit, Nana will purchase pigs and food for them. Also, part of the credit will be used for the shed renovation. The existing shed is damaged and too small for the future expansion of the farm.

Nana will place the pigs in a shed located in their yard, raise them and after several months the family will be able to have piglets. This will increase the family's animal husbandry business and their income as well. With the increased income, Nana will renovate the house and improve the living conditions.
