Solat's story

Mrs. Solat S. and her husband Mr. Sam-At Kong were married in 1979. They have six children; three sons and three daughters. Two of their children are married and live outside the family home. The other four farm with their parents. The family is about fifteen kilometers from Phnom Penh.


Mrs. Solat and her husband have been farming since they were married. They plant bananas, flowers, and other crops, which they sell at the market in Phnom Penh. Mrs. Solat is now requesting a loan of $1,000 to purchase fertilizer, seeds, pesticides, and to pay the fee for plowing.
