A loan of $600 helped to buy balanced food for her animals and pumpkin seed.

Cipriana's story

Forty-eight-year-old Cipriana is a strong and hard-working woman. She became a widow sixteen years ago and has since cared for her six children, two of which live with her in the home that her community granted her twenty years ago. She has extensive areas of land in her community, thanks to her efforts in agriculture, an activity that she has carried out since she was a young girl.

She has managed to acquire the economic support to care for her children. She plants pumpkin, corn, and potato seeds. In her fruit orchard she also has apples, cherimoya, and some citrus fruits. "I do whatever type of agricultural activity to make the necessary money," she says. She has spent more than twenty years in agriculture. She gained all of her experience thanks to her parents and grandparents, who were also farmers.

Now she finds herself in the corn harvest and preparing the land to plant pumpkin seeds. "I am working without stopping, hiring laborers to help me. I am sure that this season will be good," she affirms.

This is her ninth loan with MFP. In this new opportunity, she promises to be punctual with her repayments. The financial support that she has already received helps her to improve the quality of her animals. She likes to work with her association. Cipriana will invest her money in buying balanced food for her animals and in pumpkin seeds for sowing.
