A loan of $400 helped to buy fertilizers for her farm.

Evelia's story

Evelia is 37 and has three children. She is a widow. Her oldest daughter, age 18, and her 15-year-old son help her with her coffee farm. Her youngest daughter is barely 4 years old. Evelia learned everything about coffee farming from her father as a child. When she got married she kept up this work with her husband. For the next harvest, Evelia needs a loan for fertilizing her plants so that she will have a better harvest. She will repay the loan at the end of the harvest. With the income from the harvest, Evelia would like to open a small grocery store in her home in order to have more income for her family. She worries most about caring for her three children, as the situation has been very complicated since she was widowed.
