A loan of $500 helped to purchase plantains to sell.

Suzane Ceraphine's story

Suzanne is a 39-year-old woman and the married mother of seven children, of whom one is still in school. Suzanne has been a merchant at a local market for fifteen years already. She sells staple foods (cassava, taro, sweet potatoes…) according to the season. The sale of plantains is a business that brings in money, but the low level of her inventory leads to numerous shortages preventing her from satisfy her customers appropriately. This loan will thus enable her to stock up on large amounts, so as to respond to customers demand and to increase her sales and profits. She will reinvest part of the profits in her business in order to become a wholesaler of plantains. And the rest is for meeting the needs of her family (nutrition and education).
