Hasan is a father of three children, and has been practicing mixed farming in his rural home in Kisii, with his major produce being vegetables, maize, milk, sorghum and beans. He runs his farm with the help of one farmhand. He gets additional income from a motorcycle transport business, which mainly helps farmers make delivery of produce to the market.

Hasan has requested a loan of 40,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to use in setting up a dairy unit for his dairy cows. He believes this will give better protection to the animals and mitigate the challenges of diseases arising from poor housing. He says good development of dairy farming could help improve the family living standards and educate his children.

Hasan is focusing on gradual improvement of the dairy farming as his core business. He remains optimistic that he will be able to meet his family needs with more ease in future.
