Patricia Valentina's story

The community bank Bankito La Y meets every 15 days at San Jacinto beach in Sucre Canton. The area is known for its beautiful beaches which are visited by domestic and foreign tourists alike. It has many beautiful spots and a delicious variety of cuisine typical to the region.

To help her husband with household expenses, Patricia has a business selling clothing, shoes and sandals. She sells door to door and also from her home. Her best clients come to her home and make large orders from her because they know she always offers good, quality merchandise and the latest fashions. Patricia works 3 or 4 days a week and whenever she has free time. She offers credit and charges her customers every 15 days. She goes to Guayaquil to buy merchandise whenever she needs it. She has been running her business for 2 years and it has been going well.

Patricia will use the current loan to buy all types of clothes and shoes. She has been a member of the community bank for 2 years and she likes it because her first loan allowed her to start her business. Her dream is to own her own home because she currently lives in a rental.
