A loan of $400 helped to buy preserves, rice and sugar.

Virginia's story

Virginia, a 28-year-old woman whose concern for getting her family ahead was never limited by her gender, lives together with Palermo, her faithful cohabitant. She plays the role of mother sacrificing herself for her two children: Kevin and Yeny. She is also proud of having built her own house with good materials. With a good amount of time working in the countryside she was able to collect sufficient capital to acquire a grocery store, started within the environment of her recently completed home. Having her two young children as her principal support, she has performed with much motivation and she has noticed that her business has a tendency to grow in such a way that she has thought of expanding it in the future. One of the factors that she believes helped her end the day with good profits is the treatment and reliability she offers her clients, since thanks to that she has been able to become very well-known and liked in her neighborhood. Among the most consumed products in her business are the preserves and stews, adding to that commonly used products such as rice, sugar, eggs, etc. She has received offers from suppliers who include a special discount for bulk purchases, so she wishes to take advantage of them and thus obtain extra profits for her business. This is her 14th loan. As always, she believes that the fulfillment of her payments is allowing her to obtain more trust which in the future will give her access to a larger loan to be used to remodel her business. With the 1,000 nuevos soles requested, she will purchase products whose sale price is being offered by her suppliers, among which are preserves and more commercial products such as rice and sugar.
