A loan of $775 helped to purchase a freezer.

Tania Jacqueline's story

Tania is 31 years old and she lives in the district of Tate in Ica, Perú. The district of Tate is characterized by developing agriculture, likewise many tourist restaurants can be found which offer traditional dishes like the delicious “Carapulcra,” (a traditional Peruvian stew made of pork, dried potatoes, peppers, ground peanuts and spices), “sopa seca” (dry soup, a soup made of chicken, vegetables and noodles), “chicharrones” (pork rinds or cracklings) and “arroz con pato” (duck with rice), among others.

Tania is very hardworking, especially because she is the mother of two children, who are 14 and 10 years old and for whom she strives hard every day to be able to give them a dignified life and above all because she wants them to be good people. Day to day Tania works in her small business selling soda and beer, among other things. She dedicates around 10 hours a day to her business and can serve up to 10 customers daily. She believes that the business is going very well for her because she is very friendly with her customers and above all because she has a great desire to get ahead.

Tania is very grateful to the Kiva lenders since thanks to the help that they have provided to her she will be able to buy a freezer for her business and in this way be able to better preserve the products and provide better service. Thus she will improve her income and will continue struggling to be able to make her greatest dream a reality: “To build her house and to give a better quality of life and a good education to her children.”
