A loan of $625 helped to cover expenses for replacing his stolen driver's license.

Elmer Americo's story

Elmer is twenty-three years old and lives in the district of Santiago, an area that is characterized by farming and development, and in particular, the cultivation of cotton and grapes, among others. Elmer is a hard-working man so that he can support his parents and their home expenses with the fruit of his labor.

Elmer works as a moto-taxi driver. He works about ten hours a day and can serve twenty customers daily. He believes that his work is going well because he is kind to his customers and above all, he has a lot of drive to continue moving forward and to offer something better to his family.

Elmer is very thankful for the Kiva loans. Thanks to the help that has been offered to him, he will be able to cover the expenses to get his driver's license, since he was robbed and lost all of his documents. He will be able to legally drive and continue fighting to be able to realize his biggest dream: "to finish building his house of higher-quality material."
