A loan of $975 helped to put more hair and skin products into her business.

Florence's story

Florence is 37 years old and lives in the town of Luwero in the Luwero region of Uganda. She is married and has 6 children, with 4 of them currently in school. For the past 10 years ,Florence has been working hard to manage her salon, which sells hair and skin products.

To help expand her business, Florence has requested a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to put more hair and skin products into her business. This will help Florence to generate greater profits and pay the tuition fees for her children. Florence hopes that, in the future, she will be able to open another branch of her salon elsewhere.

Florence is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Florence who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
