Ysabel Margarita's story

Ysabel Margarita L. E. has a general store and raises animals to sell in the town of Mache, high in the sierras (mountain range) of the La Libertad region of Peru. Ysabel raises cattle and pigs and sells them in Trujillo, the capital of the region. She has 12 years of experience and has many loyal customers.

Ysabel is 43 years old and has 4 children. She enjoys her business and being able to take care of her family. She works long hours so her children can have the opportunity to study and become professionals.

A member of the Mujeres de Mache community bank, Ysabel is requesting a loan of s/1500 ($550) that she will repay over 4 months. She’ll use the loan to buy a few more pigs.
