A loan of $625 helped to buy display counters and a refrigerator.

Carla Lucero's story

Carla is a young, nineteen-year-old woman who lives alongside her parents in the city of Imperial. The city is characterized as having a warm and welcoming climate, as well as being known for its farming and, above all, for the generosity of its people. Carla is hard-working and makes a living in her small business where she has been selling snack items for the past two years.

Her parents live in humble conditions and due to some money problems, they were not making enough to be able to cover the home expenses. With savings and a lot of effort, she succeeded in starting her business. She works about ten hours a day and believes that her business is going well because she is very kind to her customers and has a lot of desire to continue moving forward.

Carla is very thankful for the Kiva loans. Thanks to the great support that they have offered her, she will be able to buy display counters and a refrigerator. With these items she will be able to display her products in a better way and also keep her products in good condition, thereby increasing her income. She will continue fighting to be able to make her biggest dream come true: "to study a career at the university and to be able to support her family."
