A loan of $675 helped to buy paint and crockery for her restaurant.

Grace Amada's story

Grace is undertaking her second loan in the Génesis communal bank. She lives in the Génesis sector of the city of Cuenca; a place with a cold climate, surrounded by exuberant vegetation, and since December 1999, a world heritage site. Its people are friendly, kind and still maintain the culture and traditions of their people.

Grace is 38 years of age, married and has three children ages 20, 13 and 11. Her eldest child works and helps her financially. Her second child is in school, and her youngest goes to a primary school in the city. Her husband is an employee of a private company. They don't have their own house, so they rent.

Grace is from the province of Oro. For work reasons, she came to Cuenca 13 years ago. She works from Sunday to Sunday in a restaurant which she has owned for two years. As it is her own business, she doesn't have fixed hours of work. She makes a great variety of dishes, and when requested, also does buffets.

She is going to use her new loan to buy paint for fixing her premises. and to buy new crockery.

Her goal is to buy a needed vehicle for her business.
