A loan of $975 helped to invest in some sheets of corrugated sheet metal and joists to repair his roof and buy ducks to raise.

Miguel Angel's story

Miguel, age 29, is married with four school-aged children and owns his own home. He and his family live in Lambayeque, an area with moderate commercial activity, belonging to the province of the same name and about twenty minutes outside the city of Chiclayo. Miguel lives in the rural part of Lambayeque and enjoys plumbing and electricity service in a small community of about 200 families.

Miguel's business is raising and selling livestock, which he's been doing for 10 years, working out of his home. He learned this trade from his parents and knows it perfectly. Miguel has applied for a loan of 2,500 nuevos soles [PEN] to invest in some sheets of corrugated sheet metal and joists to repair his roof and buy ducks to raise. While his business does face some competition, there's also plenty of room in the market for him to make sales. He also makes some side income doing day labor in the agriculture industry.
