A loan of $925 helped to purchase pigs.

Jose Tomas's story

44-year-old José lives in the village of Chacaraseca, on the outskirts of León. He's married and has three children, all of whom are adults. He's a farmer, a trade he learned out of tradition, since his father was in the same line of work and he grew up working on a farm. When he got married, he became independent and started growing corn and raising animals. His eldest son helps him in his farming work. He's currently undertaking a project of fattening pigs, a business that is in high demand and generates good profits. That's the reason why he's requesting the loan so he can buy pigs for raising. This will help him to diversify his business and obtain new sources of income when harvests are low. One of his projects is to succeed in owning his own breeding pig farm.
