A loan of $975 helped to buy a cow.

Elba's story

Elba, 41, is a serious woman with goals. She lives with Joel, her husband of 13 years. They have a daughter, Melina, and take care of her in their own home.

She has a variety of jobs. Very early in the morning she opens the doors of her house, where some time ago she started a grocery store to sell staple products. And as a rural woman, she also makes a living in livestock with her four cows. She sells the milk they produce at a good price because it's very nutritious and has a good texture. She also grows crops on her land: oats, beans, peas, and potatoes.

She says she began to work on her own when she was 15 because she had to help her family, and in time she got stronger. That's why she doesn't rest; on the contrary, she wants to increase her earnings by purchasing pigs, from which she'll also get profits because she plans to fatten them and sell them to the butchers in the area.

She belongs to Usibamba Solidarity Group and this is her fifth loan with MFP. She's grateful for the financial support she keeps getting. Now she has a way to improve her business. She pledges to be punctual with her payments because they taught her to be responsible.

Elba will invest the money requested in buying a cow to increase her cattle because she recently sold one.
