A loan of $400 helped to buy organic manure.

Yesenia's story

Yesenia, 36, is an enterprising woman living with Rubén, her husband of 11 years. They have three children together they care for in their own house. As president of her association, she’s always responsible in everything she does.

Her life has been tied to agriculture and animal husbandry; they are her source of income to this day. When she formed her family alongside her husband they decided to intensify this activity growing mainly potatoes, olluco [Andean tuber] and lima beans as well as alfalfa for the cattle they have; they own two bulls and a donkey that's a beast of burden.

When harvest time arrives, she’s able to see the fruits of her hard work when she succeeds in selling her food crops for a good price. There are seasons when market prices are good but there are also others when market prices are not too favorable. However, she always continues forward because she can also rely on the animal sales she does. She does not despair because she gets support from her husband who works in a mine and earns a steady salary.

She’s a member of the “Productores Agrícolas Las Emprendedoras” communal bank and this is the 10th MFP loan. She is grateful for the financial support she’s granted regularly. Now she has the means of improving her business. She promises to be punctual with her payments because he’s been taught to be responsible. Yesenia will use the requested money to buy organic manure to spread among her lima bean crop.
