Joseph's story

Joseph is 48 years old and lives in the town of Ggaba in the Kampala South region of Uganda. He is married and has 4 children, with 3 of them currently in school. For the past 8 years, Joseph has been working hard to manage his poultry farm, where he raises chickens.

To help expand his business, Joseph has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more poultry products to sell and will help Joseph to generate greater profits and increase on his source of income. Joseph hopes that in the future he will be able to hopes to open a wholesale business.

Joseph is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Joseph who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
