Tiger Group's story

This is 48-year-old Mavis from Mutare, the capital of Minicaland province in Zimbabwe. She is married with six children, two attending school. She also cares for two dependents. Mavis runs a food business selling dried and fresh fish. She says the main challenges faced are fresh fish is perishable and it is difficult at times to sell it before it goes bad. Mavis has requested a loan of $400 to purchase fresh fish and dried fish from Kariba for resale in Mutare. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to improve the family's general welfare. In the future Mavis plans to become a supplier to major shops.
