A loan of $1,425 helped to buy a motorcycle to commute to his agricultural plot.

Edil's story

Edil is 33 years old. Since he was a small child, he has worked in agriculture with his father. Around 15 years ago, they decided to focus on banana production. With a lot of effort from the whole family, they managed to cultivate around 15 hectares of banana, together with his siblings and parents. With the passage of time, his father decided to hand over, through purchase and sales, 5 hectares of bananas to each of his children. With this income, Edil decided to overcome a little more; he entered the Indigenous University that provided him with a lot of benefits for starting a career in aquaculture or fish farming. He has been studying for two years and is in the seventh semester of the degree. In order to be able to continue with the agricultural work, he undertakes these activities in his free days, working on the land. In these last years, these activities have led him to require newer transport to be able to get around more easily between his agricultural activities and university studies.
