A loan of $775 helped to buy handicrafts.

Zully Verónica's story

The 15 de Diciembre communal bank meets every 15 days in the San Clemente resort in Portoviejo. This place is known for its beautiful beaches that are visited by many local and foreign tourists. It offers a diversity of beautiful places and a rich variety of dishes typical of the region.

This is where Zully, age 19, lives. She is single, and she lives in her parents’ house. She is studying business administration in the city of Bahía De Caraquez. She has been in the communal bank for three cycles. She likes it because, thanks to the loans, she started her business. This allows her to move forward with her education.

In addition to being a good student, she used one of the loans to start her own business at her house. She did this in order to get her own resources. She sells handicrafts that are typical of the coast like bracelets, necklaces, and other adornments made from materials from the sea. They are greatly admired by her customers because they are very pretty and economical at the same time. She buys these products from local artisans, and she then sells them at her place. She also sells her products at the place where she goes to school.

She will use this loan to buy all types of handicrafts.

Her dream is to finish her university studies and to be a great professional.
