A loan of $675 helped to purchase pants, blouses, shirts and children's clothing for resale.

Ana Auxiliadora's story

The Community Bank "15 de Diciembre" (December 15th) meets every 15 days at the San Clemente spa and community center in Portoviejo, a region which is known for its beautiful beaches, and also offers a wide variety of lovely tourist attractions for visitors from far and near. The rich, traditional culinary dishes found in the area also add to the appeal of San Clemente and Portoviejo.

Ana is 53 years old, and lives in Portoviejo. She is a single mother, and her 21-year-old son lives with her. Ana has been an active member of the Community Bank since it's creation, and is very grateful for the community focus and the support she has received there.

Ana makes a living operating a clothing sales business where she travels door to door, three days a week selling various styles of clothes. When she is not traveling, she also sells clothing from her home to her regular customers, and offers payment plans on credit for the benefit of her clients. Her motivation for working hard each day stems from her desire to support and provide for her son, as well as her desire to make a way for herself as a businesswoman and entrepreneur.

Every two weeks, or as needed, Ana goes to Guayaquil to stock up on merchandise for resale. She now has more than two years of experience in this trade, and is thankful that business is going well.

With the support from this loan, Ana plans to purchase clothing and merchandise, such as pants, blouses, tank tops and children's clothing for resale at her business. Her dream is to grow and strengthen her business.
