Yesenia Magdalena's story

In the middle of the Amazonian jungle west of Pastaza Province and 924 meters above sea level is the city of Puyo, the capital of this province. It’s demographically small but has a great number of sites that are preferred by both national and international tourists above all those who enjoy ecological activities and extreme sports. In this city that’s growing daily thanks to commerce, animal husbandry, agriculture and tourism lives Yesenia, a 26-year-old, divorced mother of one son.

After her divorce, Yesenia decided to start selling casual clothes in order to get ahead and start to generate her own income. This need motivated her to bring forth the enterprising woman she had inside her and her desire for self-improvement cannot be kept hidden.

Her mother has always sold shoes and she inherited this experience from her in order to do this activity. She spends at least five hours daily offering seasonal and customer preferred clothes. Yesenia qualifies for considerable discounts when she buys at wholesale and she believes that It’s necessary to be well-stocked with clothes to meet the various tastes of her customers which is why she’s asked Fundación Alternativa for a loan; they supported her business and also offered to train her so that she can manage her business responsibly.
