A loan of $600 helped to buy fabric, buttons, elastic, thread, lace, sponges, decorative paints and other accessories for her business work.

Katy's story

Katy, 42 years old, is a happy woman, an idealist, and very enterprising. She has been married for some years and has three children aged 17, 15, and 8 years respectively. She lives in her mother-in-law’s house together with the members of her family. Katy works sewing costumes as she is one of the business associates in a piñata, costume, and animation business along with her two friends. She works in a rented facility which is located at a very busy point of the city. She has been doing this work for one year and it is going well as she and her other investment partners are putting in all of the necessary effort and creativity in order to fulfill the work optimally. What she likes about the work is that she can work quietly beside her friends and can oversee the results of her contributions immediately with her partners. Fortunately she has good earnings and always has customers. She used to work at home with a certain number of customers, and now they remain loyal to her along with new customers that she has gotten at this time, and she expects her business to continue growing and expanding as the months go by. This is her third loan through MFP, so she is grateful to the people that provide the necessary financing so she can accomplish her plans, and on her part she promises to comply with the payment plan punctually and she hopes to continue working with the communal bank because of the fellowship and solidarity among all the members. She will use the requested amount of 1500 soles to buy supplies for her business such as fabric, buttons, thread, lace, sponges, decorative paints and other accessories.
