A loan of $775 helped to buy organic fertilizer and hire laborers.

Guillermina's story

58-year-old Guillermina is a widow. With much effort she has managed to support and raise her two children who today are grown and independent. She lives with her grandson in an adobe house that belongs to her. For more than 20 years, Guillermina has been a well-known woman making a living in the field of cocoa production in her area. She leads the business on her own, but at the advice of her children she hires workers for the planting, maintenance, and harvesting of the cocoa. It pleases her very much to lead the whole process because despite her age she feels that she is still capable of doing many things.

Right now she has a good offer on behalf of a storage center that is paying a considerable price for the products in her area and it is necessary to begin preparation of the land in order to have the plantations of cocoa ready and prepared, for which the number of seasonal laborers that work in the area is doubling and why she is also placing the order for the sacks of organic fertilizer as soon as possible.

This is her 16th loan. She is very grateful, and with a smile she says that her perseverance is due to the fact that it is going very well with MFP, as well as with her communal bank where she has friends who know how to listen and in whom she sees good ideas. With the 2,000 soles she will be able to pay the cost in advance to the vendors of the organic fertilizer, and do the same with paying the laborers who will work to get rid of the bad weeds.
