Elba Luz's story

Elba Luz is 38 years old. She is married and has two children, aged 11 and 5. She is from the department of León, located in the western part of the country. León is a place with kind people and is a university town, with the oldest and most prestigious university in the country. Elba Luz' economic activity is selling merchandise such as pants, shirts, shorts, skirts, t-shirts, pajamas, bedclothes, and underwear. He has done this actiivty for 10 years. Elba's daily routine is to work around 10 hours a day, offering her merchandise door to door. She carries a load of around 20 kg. to offer her merchandise to regular and incidental customers. She has worked with the Fundación León 2000 already and has shown herself to be responsible and punctual in her payments. She is asking for the loan to invest in working capital and stock merchandise to take advantage of the season. The holidays are coming soon and Christmas festivals when people buy clothes to look good on different occasions. Elba Luz is grateful for the help from the Kiva investors for low income people in poor countries such as Nicaragua, so they can have a way to have dignified work.
