Xuan was born in 1964. She has two children who are adults. Her husband is a bronze craftsman. Xuan grows rice and raises pigs and chickens for a living. She gains 2,000,000 VND (Vietnamese dong) per month. Her family’s total earnings are about 9,000,000 VND per month.
She has participated in SEDA's credit program since 2007. In the last loan cycle, she borrowed 7,630,000 VND and repaid the loan on time. In this loan cycle, she would like to borrow 8,502,000 VND to buy food for the chickens and pigs. Her dream is that her children can go to higher education and that she can upgrade her farm.
The Center of Small Enterprise Development Assistance (SEDA) is a non-profit organization whose vision is to create “a society without poverty.” Founded in 2004, SEDA provides microfinance services to low-income and disadvantaged people in rural areas of Hanoi and the northern provinces of Vietnam through its Binh Minh Micro-Finance Program.
