Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Kunthea's Group's story

Kunthea is 49 years old and a local farmer, who currently grows rice and pineapple in order to meet the daily cost of living for her entire household, especially her children. Farming rice and pineapple is the business that she has been in for 13 years.

Kunthea's group is comprised of two female members, and Kunthea is a second-time borrower and the group leader. She has managed her first loan in a wise manner in moving her business forward, and it has returned her a decent income. She and her fellow group member are seeking 1,200,000 KHR and 600,000 KHR, respectively. Kunthea is going to use her entire portion of the loan to buy fertilizer for both of her crops. She hopes to gain a higher yield than before, so she can keep up a good pace of her business.
