A loan of $325 helped to buy more dried fish to sell.

Roberto's story

Roberto is a 67-year-old man living in the city of Pucallpa. He has 3 children who are already grown and whom he loves – they are his principal reason for living. He is a very friendly, hard-working, and enthusiastic person who has dedicated all his efforts to advancing his family. Lamentably, for diverse reasons, for several years now, he has been separated from his wife. Roberto was unable to pursue professional studies but he would have liked very much to have studied vehicle welding. In his free time he likes to attend church to thank God for all the blessings he has been given and, on some occasions, he cooks a rich Rice with Chicken to share with his family.

On his own initiative, with much effort and dedication, Roberto launched his small business selling dried fish. He initiates work every day from the early hours of the morning. Roberto works approximately 8 hours, during which time he attends to an average of 15 customers, and he believes that the business is going well, due to his good prices and the service he offers his customers.

Roberto is very grateful to Kiva lenders because, due to their help, he has been able to purchase more fish to supply his business. In this manner, Roberto hopes to augment his sales and increase his income, which will serve greatly to, little by little, expand business and help him and his family advance daily.
