A loan of $650 helped to buy papayas, melons, bananas, oranges, potatoes, chilies, pineapples, carrots, yuccas, and bananas.

Rosa Lina's story

Rosa Lina lives in the municipality of San Ignacio. Her husband works as a driver, and with this income he helps her with the household expenses, hoping that, at some time in the future, their standard of living will improve. She has been involved in the sale of fruit and vegetables for many years. During this time her biggest difficulty has been the lack of working capital in order to continue investing in her business. However, now with the opportunity that AFODENIC offers via Kiva, it is easier to go ahead with this first loan, which she has requested to supply her small shop with papayas, melons, bananas, oranges, potatoes, chilies, pineapples, carrots, yuccas, and bananas, among other things. She will then sell these items in several provinces of the country and, in this way, achieve a better standard of living for her children and family.
