Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,150 helped to pay for her home improvements.

Karimeh's story

Karimeh is a 52-year-old married woman with two family members from Al Khaldieh, Al Mafraq, Jordan. She is requesting a loan of 800 Jordanian dinars (JOD) to pay for home improvements. She would like to buy new furniture, such as bedroom furniture, and to repaint the living room. In the future, she wants to repaint her home and buy more furniture. Also, she hopes to open a business to increase her family's income.

For cultural reasons, Karimeh prefers that her photo is not on the Internet; thus, the photo is of her son.
