Conchita, 67, is a widow with four children. She is from Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines. She owns and operates a retail store at home to make a living. She's been running this business for 21 years now and earns about 3,200 PHP (Philippines pesos) a month.
In 2008, Conchita joined Kiva's partner GDMPC. She is requesting a loan of PHP 6,000 to purchase new items such as candies, Milo, shampoo, soaps, etc. She dreams of a business expansion someday.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
