Carlos Hugo's story

Carlos is 43 years old and lives in the city of Chincha with his partner and 8-year-old son. He loves his family dearly, and they are his principal motivation in life. He is a kind, hard-working, and enthusiastic person who, together with his partner, does his best to provide a good life for his family. Unfortunately, Carlos was not able to study to be a civil engineer as he would have liked. In his free time, he likes to play soccer with his friends and neighbors and sometimes cooks delicious chicken and rice for his family.

Carlos has a small mototaxi and works hard seven days a week offering transport services. He sets off early every morning to go around the city streets looking for customers, and works around 12 hours a day. He believes that his hard work has been the key to his success. Carlos is very grateful to the Kiva lenders because, with their help, he will be able to buy merchandise (men's, women's, and children's clothes) in order to start a small clothes-selling business with his partner. Carlos wants to continue working hard to be able to provide a good education and quality of life for his son.
