Mahukpego 10 Group's story

Mahukpego 10 is a group of three individuals living in the same neighborhood in Benin. The group’s representative, Machoucoura (the one raising her hand in the photo) is 40 years old. Her husband’s name is Sikirou. They have four children, some of whom are in school. Machoucoura and her husband live together with their children and jointly provide for various household needs. Machoucoura never attended school. For about 20 years, Machoucoura has been selling various products (coolers, dishes and plastic items) as a street vendor. She is dedicated to this work, which allows her to provide for herself and her children. Machoucoura stocks up in a town of Benin. With the goal of meeting customer demand, Machoucoura, along with the other members of her group, is seeking her sixth loan. This loan will allow group members to better meet demand and increase their profits. The prior loans have been duly repaid.
