A loan of $475 helped to purchase metal to carry out his work as a blacksmith.

Julian's story

Julian who is 56 years old, is a humble man. He lives with his wife, Rosa. They have 5 children but only live with one of them, Milagros, who they care for in the home they inherited 30 years ago. Julian works as a blacksmith. He has 25 years of experience making doors, picks, lamps and other metallic agricultural tools. Julian really enjoys his profession; it was passed down to him from his grandparents. The majority of the residents in his area make their livings in the same business. He says, “My town is a blacksmith cradle.” Julian has a lot of customers in the neighboring areas. His work is well known and sells regularly. Now he wants to continue to have the energy to work in the area that pleases him most. He wants to keep working in agriculture and raising animals, like cattle, as well. That's the other area he dedicates his time to. This is Julian's fifth loan with MFP, He is grateful for the opportunity to step forward that they offered him with his previous loans. They helped him to improve his business, and so he promises to be punctual with his payments. Julian will invest the money in the purchase of metal to keep working as a blacksmith, and if there is money left over, he will plant alfalfa to feed to his animals.
